Cruise
A journey where the ship itself becomes the destination.
Why Bespoke for Cruise
Cruise travel differs from a hotel stay or a packaged tour: movement and accommodation merge into a single journey.
Each cruise line carries its own culture, whether Silversea, Regent, or Four Seasons Yacht. A NEWT Bespoke concierge handles your cruise from the first conversation through cabin selection, onboard support, and post-voyage follow-up.
From planning and cabin selection to port-of-call guides, onboard Japanese interpreters, and post-voyage follow-up. We treat 'accompaniment' as a structured workflow, because that is what cruising most asks for.
From a 10-night Mediterranean anniversary voyage to a 90-day world cruise, illustrative sample scenarios you can review before reaching out (not records of actual bookings).
We've mapped major cruise lines, including Silversea, Regent, Seabourn and Four Seasons Yacht, into a side-by-side comparison guide.
Four Seasons Yacht, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Ponant. Ultra-small vessels rarely described in detail elsewhere — explained here in price, experience, and audience.
Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Spanish, French. We can also arrange voyages for inbound and resident-foreign high-net-worth travellers.

Sample Concierge Scenario
A 10-night Mediterranean voyage for a couple's wedding anniversary. We chose a mid-deck Veranda Suite on Silversea Silver Nova (quieter motion, with a private balcony) sailing from Barcelona to Rome. On the anniversary night, the ship's top-deck restaurant was reserved privately for dinner. On the Santorini port day, a private villa on the island served as the lunch venue. A dedicated photographer joined for two days in Santorini and Amalfi.

400–700 guests. All suites balcony or above; meals, gratuities and basic shore excursions typically included.

Large vessels of 2,000–6,000 guests. Pools, water slides, multiple restaurants, evening shows. Entertainment- and value-driven — the natural entry point for first-time cruisers, families with children and multi-generation travel.

100–250 guests. Everyone can disembark by Zodiac. Polar regions, Galápagos, the South Pacific — places larger ships cannot reach.

80–350 guests. Small vessels for those who want "a cruise that doesn't feel like a cruise." New brands from hotel groups.

Departing Yokohama, Kobe, Naha. Experience MSC Bellissima YC or Asuka II suites without the friction of overseas travel.

World cruises of 100–180 nights, Monaco GP yachts, 11–21-night Antarctic voyages. For the culmination of a passion, or a private milestone.

Slim 100–200-guest vessels along the Rhine, Danube, Mekong, Nile. Meals, excursions, even bicycles often fully included.
Cruise Lines
"How does Silversea actually differ from Regent?" No industry site had laid this out side by side, so we built our own map.
All-suite, all-inclusive (meals, beverages, gratuities). Silversea offers a quiet, mature voyage. Regent has the industry's broadest inclusion, with business-class flights and shore excursions in the fare. Seabourn runs small ships under 600 guests with Thomas Keller-curated dining. Explora Journeys launched in 2023 as MSC Group's upper-tier brand.
80–350 guests on small ships that feel closer to a hotel stay than a traditional cruise. Four Seasons Yacht uses per-suite pricing, the same model as a hotel. Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has been expanding its fleet rapidly since the launch of Evrima in 2022. Ponant is a French brand built around French cuisine and the attentive service of small-group sailing.
100–250 guests with full disembarkation; ice-class and ice-breaker hulls reach the poles. Silversea Expedition serves Galápagos. Seabourn Venture carries helicopters and submarines, opening the sky and the sea floor as part of the voyage. Hurtigruten, Norway's veteran operator, offers naturalist-led expeditions at a more approachable starting price.
Oceania is built around cuisine. Viking Ocean is adults-only (18+), suited to travellers who prefer a quiet ship. Princess's Diamond Princess carries many Japanese-speaking staff and is often the entry point for Japanese guests trying an overseas cruise. Holland America has a long history on the Alaska itineraries.
Asuka II is Japan's top flag-vessel from NYK Cruises, with its 103-day world cruise as the signature itinerary. Nippon Maru, affiliated with MOL, is strong on seasonal cruises around Obon and New Year holidays. MSC Bellissima offers a ship-within-a-ship VIP enclave called Yacht Club (YC), with a dedicated lounge and butler service for a luxury experience on a large-scale ship.

Sample Case Scenarios
Sample estimates that give you a feel for what bookings of this kind typically cost.

An 8-night Japan-departing cruise for six over the Christmas holidays. Two Family Suites were booked in the Yacht Club enclave of MSC Bellissima, so the grandparents and the grandchildren's family could share the same ship at their own pace. The ship calls at Naha and Keelung. We arranged a private family snorkelling outing in Naha and a private day-trip from Keelung to Jiufen. As the cruise sails round-trip from Yokohama, no international flights are needed.

A 7-night yacht-style cruise around the Fiji islands for a honeymoon. We reserved a Sea View Suite on Four Seasons Yacht (the new 2026 yacht with capacity around 230 guests). One day the couple joined a sailing day with the captain and took the helm themselves; on another, the crew set up a private barbecue lunch on an uninhabited island. A full-ship charter runs roughly ¥50M for the week, but a single Sea View Suite delivers the same yacht-style intimacy at minimum scale.

The first 90 nights of Regent Seven Seas Splendor's 154-night world cruise. Departing Miami, the route passes through the Caribbean, South America, Antarctica and the South Pacific before disembarking in Yokohama. We secured the Master Suite (over 200㎡). Japanese-speaking guides were arranged at 11 of the 48 ports. The ship doctor's monthly Japanese-language medical consultations, satellite Wi-Fi plan optimization, customs handling at Yokohama, and post-voyage luggage logistics were all coordinated.

FAQ
It varies significantly by cruise line. Luxury lines (Silversea, Regent, Seabourn) typically include meals, all beverages, gratuities and basic shore excursions. Mass-market lines like MSC include meals only; beverages, gratuities and excursions are extra. See the All-Inclusive comparison on this page; final terms are confirmed individually during planning.
Charged separately by all cruise lines. Typically USD 100–500 per person per voyage depending on itinerary and timing. We always disclose the exact current figure before booking is confirmed.
It varies by cruise line. Silversea, Regent, Seabourn, Explora, Viking, Asuka II, and Four Seasons Yacht include port taxes in the fare. Oceania, MSC, Princess and Holland America charge them separately, roughly USD 25–50 per port per day — about USD 200–400 for a 7-night cruise and USD 4,000–8,000 for a world cruise. We provide an itemized estimate during planning.
Included on luxury lines (Silversea, Regent, Seabourn, Asuka II, etc.). On mass-market lines (MSC, RC, NCL), USD 15–20 per person per day is automatically billed to your onboard account.
Cruise dress codes have three tiers — Casual, Smart Casual and Formal (Elegant) — and the standard rotates by ship and by night. ■ Daytime: Almost universally casual across all lines. Shorts and sandals fine. Pool decks expect bathrobe transit. ■ Evening / Smart Casual (the luxury baseline): Men, jacket recommended (no tie required), collared shirt, slacks, leather shoes. Women, a dress or a blouse with skirt or trousers. ■ Formal / Elegant Nights: 2–3 occasions on a 7-night cruise. Men, dark suit or tuxedo. Women, cocktail or evening dress. Silversea, Regent and Cunard hold a stricter line; Norwegian and MSC are more relaxed. ■ River cruises: Almost fully casual. No formal nights. ■ Japan-flagged ships: Asuka II and Nippon Maru have jacket-recommended evenings. Traditional Japanese attire welcome. Before departure Bespoke provides a per-ship dress-code briefing and a recommended packing list, and arranges tuxedo or evening dress rentals on request.
Seasickness risk shifts dramatically based on three factors — ship size, cabin position, and the route's sea conditions. With the right combination, most travellers can pass an entire voyage barely feeling motion. ■ Ship size: Vessels over 100,000 GT are very stable, and most modern ships carry fin stabilizers that suppress lateral motion. Small expedition vessels, sailing ships and yacht-style cruises are by design more lively. ■ Cabin position: The most stable cabins sit mid-ship, on lower decks. Bow-facing or top-deck cabins move the most. At booking we steer cabin selection toward mid-ship for sensitive travellers. ■ Route & season: Calm — Mediterranean (May–September), Caribbean, Japan coastal waters. Rougher — North Sea, Norwegian coast, Drake Passage (Antarctic routes), and the North Atlantic (especially winter). ■ Onboard provisions: Every ship carries a physician; oral medication, transdermal patches and IV anti-emetics are standard. Non-pharmaceutical Sea-Bands are available in onboard shops. ■ Personal preparation: In Japan, Anelon and Travelmin are the standard over-the-counter options. Starting medication one hour before sailing is most effective. ■ How Bespoke helps: Tell us at the consultation that you are prone to seasickness. We combine ship type, sea region, season and cabin position to design a voyage where motion is minimized as much as possible.
Varies by port. We organize the document checklist for cases such as ESTA (US ports), separate visas (Russian ports) and more.
Satellite Wi-Fi is available across all ships, from USD 15–30/day metered plans to full-voyage unlimited plans. Some luxury lines include it in the fare.
Seven tiers: Inside (no window), Oceanview (small window), Balcony, Suite, Yacht Club / The Haven (ship-within-a-ship VIP enclave), and Owner's Suite. For most cruises we recommend Balcony or above; for longer voyages, Suite and above. MSC's YC and NCL's The Haven offer private lounges and dining — effectively luxury experiences within mass-market ships.
Pre-departure: tiered cancellation fees apply (increasing from 90 days before departure). Post-departure disembarkation: possible in emergency cases only — Bespoke arranges medical disembarkation and alternative travel.
Consultations are free, any time. Whether you've already chosen a ship, or want to start with "which one suits us" — either way is welcome.
