Cruise

Make the sea your journey.

Cruise travel — another shape of journey.

Why Bespoke for Cruise

For a cruise, talk to a specialist.

Not a hotel, not a guided tour. Cruise travel is a journey where movement and stay become one.

Silversea, Regent, Four Seasons Yacht — each cruise line, each itinerary carries its own culture. NEWT Bespoke concierges accompany your cruise from the first conversation, through your time onboard, to the photo album back home.

With you, before to after.

From planning and cabin selection to port-of-call guides, onboard Japanese interpreters, and post-trip photo curation. We treat 'accompaniment' as a structured workflow, because that is what cruising most asks for.

Real-budget sample scenarios.

From a 14-night Mediterranean voyage celebrating a 50th anniversary to a 90-day world cruise — illustrative sample scenarios you can review before reaching out (not records of actual bookings).

The world's cruise lines, organized in five groups.

Silversea, Regent, Seabourn, Four Seasons Yacht — each with its own character. We give you a map you can read side by side.

An English-language gateway to yacht-style cruises.

Four Seasons Yacht, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Ponant. Ultra-small vessels rarely described in detail elsewhere — explained here in price, experience, and audience.

Nine languages, for travellers from anywhere.

Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Spanish, French. We can also arrange voyages for inbound and resident-foreign high-net-worth travellers.

Santorini at sunset, Mediterranean view

Sample Concierge Scenario

A 50th anniversary on the Mediterranean — 14 nights, ocean suite.

Tokyo-based couple in their 70sTotal approx. ¥4.8M · ¥2.4M per person

A 14-night Mediterranean voyage for a couple's golden anniversary. We chose a mid-deck Veranda Suite on Silversea Silver Nova — quieter for movement, with a balcony view of the sea — sailing from Barcelona to Rome. On the anniversary night, the ship's top-deck restaurant was reserved privately for a dinner with the captain. On the Santorini port day, a private villa on the island served as the lunch venue. A dedicated photographer joined for two days in Santorini and Amalfi to document the trip. Bespoke handled planning four months ahead — flights, pre- and post-cruise stays, cabin selection, shore arrangements and the anniversary moments — and put together a photo album after the return.

Cruise Lines

Reading the world's cruise lines in five groups.

"How does Silversea actually differ from Regent?" — a question no industry site had answered side by side. Here is our map.

Ultra-Luxury

Silversea / Regent / Seabourn / Crystal / Explora

All-suite, all-inclusive (meals, beverages, gratuities). Silversea is quiet and refined; Regent has the industry's broadest inclusiveness with business-class flights and shore excursions; Seabourn is small-scale (under 600 guests) with Thomas Keller-curated dining; Explora Journeys is MSC Group's new ultra-luxury brand launched in 2023.

Yacht-Style — Hotel Brand Partnerships

Four Seasons Yacht / Ritz-Carlton Yacht / Ponant Le Ponant

80–350 guests, designed to feel unlike a cruise. Four Seasons Yacht uses a per-suite hotel-style pricing model; Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection grew rapidly from Evrima (2022); Ponant pairs French dining with intimate vessels.

Expedition Vessels

Silversea Expedition / Seabourn Venture / Hurtigruten / Hapag-Lloyd

100–250 guests with full disembarkation. Ice-class and ice-breaker hulls reach the poles. Silversea Expedition serves Galápagos; Seabourn Venture carries helicopters and submarines; Hurtigruten — Norway's veteran — offers entry-level Arctic pricing.

Premium — Large-Ship Premium Class

Oceania / Viking Ocean / Princess / Holland America

Oceania focuses on cuisine; Viking Ocean is adults-only (18+) for tranquility; Princess's Diamond Princess carries Japanese-speaking staff and is many Japanese guests' first overseas cruise; Holland America is the Alaska veteran.

Japan-Flagged & Japan-Departing

Asuka II / Asuka III / Nippon Maru / MSC Bellissima

Asuka II — Japan's top flag-vessel from NYK Cruises, with its iconic 103-day world cruise; Nippon Maru — MOL-affiliated, focused on Obon and New Year voyages; MSC Bellissima YC offers a ship-within-a-ship VIP enclave for genuine luxury on a large-scale ship.

Large cruise ship sailing under clear blue sky

Christmas holidays on a mega-ship — three generations of six

Guests

Ship
MSC Bellissima Yacht Club / 8 nights
Route
Yokohama → Kobe → Naha → Keelung (Taiwan) → Yokohama
Spend
Total approx. ¥2.8M · ¥0.47M per person

An 8-night Japan-departing cruise for six over the Christmas holidays. Two Family Suites were booked in the Yacht Club enclave of MSC Bellissima, so the grandparents and the family with two children could share the same ship but keep their own pace. The Yacht Club has its own pool, lounge and dining venue, giving the grandchildren a place for shows and activities while the grandparents have their quiet corner. On Christmas day, the ship runs a tree-lighting ceremony and a children's Santa event. The ship calls at Naha and Keelung in Taiwan. We arranged a private family snorkelling outing in Naha and a private day-trip from Keelung to Jiufen. Plenty of Japanese-speaking staff and Japanese menus onboard, and as the cruise sails round-trip from Yokohama, no international flights are needed.

Yacht on calm tropical water

A South Pacific yacht charter, for a honeymoon

Guests
Kanto-based couple in their 30s
Ship
Four Seasons Yacht / 7 nights
Route
Fiji archipelago
Spend
Total approx. ¥4.1M · ¥2.05M per person

A 7-night yacht-style cruise around the Fiji islands for a honeymoon. We reserved a Sea View Suite on Four Seasons Yacht — the new 2026 yacht-style vessel with a capacity of roughly 230 guests. Unlike a standard cruise, a yacht-style voyage is small enough that crew and guests share close everyday contact. One day, the couple joined a sailing day with the captain and took the helm themselves. Another day, they went ashore to an uninhabited island where the crew had set up a private barbecue lunch. One evening, the in-suite private chef prepared a custom dinner. A full-ship charter runs roughly ¥50M for the week. Booking a single Sea View Suite instead delivers the same yacht-style intimacy with a far smaller commitment.

The first 90 days of a world cruise

Ship
Regent Seven Seas Splendor / 90 nights
Route
Miami → Caribbean → South America → Antarctica → Pacific → Yokohama disembarkation
Spend
Total approx. ¥32M · ¥16M per person

The first 90 nights of Regent Seven Seas Splendor's 154-night world cruise. Departing Miami, the route passes through the Caribbean, South America, Antarctica and the South Pacific before disembarking in Yokohama. We secured the Master Suite — over 200㎡ with a private bar, hot tub and multiple bedrooms. Across the 90 nights, Japanese-speaking guides were arranged at 11 of the 48 ports. Formal-night attire was shipped separately by trunk and pre-staged in the suite's closet. For the first 45 nights, a Japanese travel journalist joined the voyage, covering three port segments alongside the couple. On a long voyage, daily life matters more than the itinerary itself. We supported monthly Japanese-language medical consultations through the ship doctor, optimized satellite Wi-Fi plans, handled customs at Yokohama on disembarkation, and arranged post-voyage luggage logistics. For 90 days, Bespoke stayed in touch as the concierge that could still be reached at sea.

Note: These three case stories are illustrative sample scenarios designed to help you envision a Bespoke cruise consultation. They are not records of actual bookings. Prices are estimates based on cruise-line published rates as of May 2026, and vary with currency, season and cancellation terms.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is included in the fare?+

It varies significantly by cruise line. Luxury lines (Silversea, Regent, Seabourn) typically include meals, all beverages, gratuities and basic shore excursions. Mass-market lines like MSC include meals only; beverages, gratuities and excursions are extra. See the All-Inclusive comparison on this page; final terms are confirmed individually during planning.

How much is the fuel surcharge?+

Charged separately by all cruise lines. Typically USD 100–500 per person per voyage depending on itinerary and timing. We always disclose the exact current figure before booking is confirmed.

Are port taxes extra?+

Yes. Roughly USD 25–50 per port per day. About USD 200–400 for a 7-night cruise; USD 4,000–8,000 for a world cruise. We provide an itemized estimate when planning.

Are gratuities extra?+

Included on luxury lines (Silversea, Regent, Seabourn, Asuka II, etc.). On mass-market lines (MSC, RC, NCL), USD 15–20 per person per day is automatically billed to your onboard account.

Is there a dress code?+

Cruise dress codes have three tiers — Casual, Smart Casual and Formal (Elegant) — and the standard rotates by ship and by night. ■ Daytime: Almost universally casual across all lines. Shorts and sandals fine. Pool decks expect bathrobe transit. ■ Evening / Smart Casual (the luxury baseline): Men, jacket recommended (no tie required), collared shirt, slacks, leather shoes. Women, a dress or a blouse with skirt or trousers. ■ Formal / Elegant Nights: 2–3 occasions on a 7-night cruise. Men, dark suit or tuxedo. Women, cocktail or evening dress. Silversea, Regent and Cunard hold a stricter line; Norwegian and MSC are more relaxed. ■ River cruises: Almost fully casual. No formal nights. ■ Japan-flagged ships: Asuka II and Nippon Maru have jacket-recommended evenings. Traditional Japanese attire welcome. Before departure Bespoke provides a per-ship dress-code briefing and a recommended packing list, and arranges tuxedo or evening dress rentals on request.

I'm worried about seasickness — will I be all right?+

Seasickness risk shifts dramatically based on three factors — ship size, cabin position, and the route's sea conditions. With the right combination, most travellers can pass an entire voyage barely feeling motion. ■ Ship size: Vessels over 100,000 GT are very stable, and most modern ships carry fin stabilizers that suppress lateral motion. Small expedition vessels, sailing ships and yacht-style cruises are by design more lively. ■ Cabin position: The most stable cabins sit mid-ship, on lower decks. Bow-facing or top-deck cabins move the most. At booking we steer cabin selection toward mid-ship for sensitive travellers. ■ Route & season: Calm — Mediterranean (May–September), Caribbean, Japan coastal waters. Rougher — North Sea, Norwegian coast, Drake Passage (Antarctic routes), and the North Atlantic (especially winter). ■ Onboard provisions: Every ship carries a physician; oral medication, transdermal patches and IV anti-emetics are standard. Non-pharmaceutical Sea-Bands are available in onboard shops. ■ Personal preparation: In Japan, Anelon and Travelmin are the standard over-the-counter options. Starting medication one hour before sailing is most effective. ■ How Bespoke helps: Tell us at the consultation that you are prone to seasickness. We combine ship type, sea region, season and cabin position to design a voyage where motion is minimized as much as possible.

Passport and visa arrangements?+

Varies by port. We organize the document checklist for cases such as ESTA (US ports), separate visas (Russian ports) and more.

What about internet and onboard Wi-Fi?+

Satellite Wi-Fi is available across all ships, from USD 15–30/day metered plans to full-voyage unlimited plans. Some luxury lines include it in the fare.

How do I choose a cabin category?+

Seven tiers: Inside (no window), Oceanview (small window), Balcony, Suite, Yacht Club / The Haven (ship-within-a-ship VIP enclave), and Owner's Suite. For most cruises we recommend Balcony or above; for longer voyages, Suite and above. MSC's YC and NCL's The Haven offer private lounges and dining — effectively luxury experiences within mass-market ships.

What if I cancel after departure?+

Pre-departure: tiered cancellation fees apply (increasing from 90 days before departure). Post-departure disembarkation: possible in emergency cases only — Bespoke arranges medical disembarkation and alternative travel.
